Since the beginning of the full-scale war, 176 Kyivstar employees have joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the Territorial Defense Forces, including on a voluntary basis.
These are radio engineers, cyber defense experts, marketers, logistics and transportation specialists, contact center employees, and other company specialists who are currently defending the country in various hot spots. A number of the company’s employees who have been at the front since the first days of the war have already returned to their jobs.
The company systematically helps employees serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Each of them retains his or her job and receives monthly payments equal to the average monthly salary. Psycho-emotional support for veterans and their families, team safety, financial and non-financial motivation, and care for physical and mental health are the areas that the company implements and adapts to the needs of the times.
“Comprehensive support of the team, continuous provision of services, assistance to subscribers, society and the country as a whole are the areas on which Kyivstar has focused its efforts,” says Oksana Oliynyk, Kyivstar’s Director of Human Resources and Organization Development. – “Since February 24, 2022, the company and the team have been constantly moving #TowardsVictory – this is our slogan. As an employer, we have implemented a number of measures to ensure that our employees remain engaged.”
To develop and implement a veterans’ reintegration program, the company cooperates with military psychologists and conducts training for the HR team on recruiting veterans and communicating with them. In-depth psycho-emotional support programs are available for war veterans and their families. A separate area is work with the team to which demobilized soldiers return. The team leaders, whom the company teaches to work and act in war conditions, become mentors and coaches for their colleagues.
Kyivstar employees are actively involved in helping the Armed Forces and charity projects. Thus, since the beginning of the full-scale aggression against Ukraine, the company’s volunteers have raised UAH 2.2 million of their own funds for charities. The total amount of Kyivstar’s assistance to the Armed Forces, subscribers and Ukraine during the war exceeded UAH 1.3 billion.
