As we move into a more digitized era, automation is becoming a key part of everyday life. To facilitate more “automation,” Google is planning to release an artificial intelligence (AI) tool aimed at automating web tasks.
According to The Information, Google is working on an AI tool called Project Jarvis. The AI tool will help automate your web tasks. Let’s see what else it can offer!
Welcome to the “Jarvis Project”
So, what is Project Jarvis? Project Jarvis is capable of “performing tasks for users, including gathering research, buying a product, or booking airline tickets,” some people associated with the project told The Verge. It is expected to be available by the end of December 2024. This upcoming project is powered by Google’s Gemini AI artificial intelligence tool.
But how will this AI tool work? Well, Jarvis has been specially designed to work with Google Chrome. Using the web browsing platform, the artificial intelligence will perform actions such as typing, interpreting screenshots, and pressing buttons. What’s more, it’s just like what we humans can do with a keyboard. But this time, it’s artificial intelligence! For example, it can book hotels for you, conduct research, and much more. You don’t need to intervene.
Well, the project is currently in the testing phase and is expected to be launched for everyone soon. The tech giant is also keen to make sure that Project Jarvis is fully modernized before launch. In addition, the company plans to consider releasing an artificial intelligence tool for a small number of testers. This is necessary to find and help the company work on errors, if any.
How much automation is too much automation
Well, Google isn’t the only one looking to automate web tasks. Microsoft’s artificial intelligence tool, Copilot, also aims to use the same checklist as Google’s Project Jarvis. Copilot also helps users communicate while browsing the web.
A new update to Anthropic’s Claude AI tool promises to give you artificial intelligence capable of using computers. On October 23, Anthropic announced on its official blog that it will update its Claude AI to Claude 3.5 Sonnet. With the update, Claude AI will be able to manage virtual assistants that can conduct research, answer emails, and even perform other back-office tasks.
In addition, Claude 3.5 Sonnet claims to be able to match the level of a human expert. For example, you can ask the AI model to copy button presses, keystrokes, or even cursor movements just like a human using a keyboard.
