Google is taking another step towards making Gemini a more useful assistant. The company is launching Scheduled Actions, a feature that AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers can use to ask the assistant to perform tasks at a specific time, such as providing a summary of their calendar at the end of each day or generating blog post ideas every Monday.
Users can also instruct Gemini to perform one-time tasks using this feature, such as asking for a recap of an awards ceremony the day after it takes place, Google says. “Simply tell Gemini what you need and when, and it will take care of the rest,” the company wrote in a post announcing the changes.
Gemini subscribers can manage scheduled tasks by going to the “scheduled activities” page in the Gemini app settings. Android Authority first spotted an early version of this feature in April, which is related to Google’s efforts to have its AI assistant perform more agent-like tasks.
OpenAI’s ChatGPT offers subscribers a similar feature that allows a chatbot to send you reminders or perform repetitive actions.
