Google extends Workspace licenses and AI integration for Ukraine

Since last year, Google has provided 50 thousand Workspace licenses for Ukraine. They allow civil servants to use corporate email, cloud storage, and other Google Workspace services free of charge. The licenses have been extended for another year.

The company also advocates the integration of Google’s AI-related technologies into the Diia software.

Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov agreed at a meeting with Google’s top management. The company has been actively supporting the projects of the Ministry of Digital Transformation since the beginning of the Ministry’s work.

Areas of cooperation

The Ministry cooperates with Google in various areas:

  • updating the Diia.Osvita,
  • launching educational series,
  • Countering Russian disinformation,
  • support for Ukrainian startups,
  • 50 thousand Chromebooks for teachers.

We plan to develop many more joint projects, including support for Ukrainian YouTube and integration of Google AI technologies into the Ministry of Digital Transformation’s products.

An important partnership

Google is a top partner supporting Ukraine. The company provided a $2 million grant to relaunch the Diia.Osvita platform and donated 50,000 laptops as part of the Laptop for Every Teacher project. It also created the Ukraine Support Fund with a budget of $5 million to support Ukrainian startups.

“I am grateful to Google’s top executives Patrick Warning, Annette Kroeber-Riehl, and Marta Poslad for their support and visit to Kyiv. Together, we are building the technological future,” said Fedorov.

If it is actually possible to use Google technology in the Diia software, it will not only be a breakthrough in the field of digitalization in Ukraine, but will also greatly contribute to the promotion of Ukrainian products on the global market.
