Global version of Xiaomi 16 hits the certification site

Xiaomi‘s next flagship series is starting to take shape outside of China. A new device, presumably the Xiaomi 16, has appeared in the European EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) certification database, indicating that a global release is not far off, although not immediately.

It appears on the certification site with the model code 25113PN0EG. This confirms that the device is indeed a Xiaomi 16, as it also appeared in the IMEI database with the same model number.

The G suffix at the end indicates that this is a global version, while Xiaomi is also preparing separate variants of the phone for China (25113PN0EC) and India (25113PN0EI).

Historically, Xiaomi listings in the EEC do not always indicate the imminence of a launch. For example, the Xiaomi 15 received certification in May 2024, but made its global debut only in March 2025 with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

In the case of the Xiaomi 16, it is expected to appear in China as early as September 2025 along with the Xiaomi 16 Pro and 16 Ultra. Worldwide, it may appear on store shelves no earlier than Q1 2026.

What to expect from Xiaomi 16?

According to reports, Xiaomi 16 will be the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. It is said to have a 6.3-inch RGB OLED panel with a 2K resolution and a battery with a capacity of about 7,000 mAh.

It will include a trio of 50-megapixel sensors covering wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle, and periscope telephoto modes. The device is also expected to ship with HyperOS 3.0 overlaid on top of Android 16.

While no official word has yet come from Xiaomi, the EEC filing adds further evidence that the company’s next flagship is gearing up for a wider launch. Just don’t expect it too soon.
