The Ministry of Finance proposes to increase duty on 1 megahertz of radio frequency band 5 fold or UAH 6,320 to UAH 7,900 per month for mobile communications, a draft resolution of the Ministry of Finance posted on its official website proclaims.
The ministry offers to introduce amendments to clause 11 of the supplement to Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution No. 1150 of December 27, 2008 stating that monthly duty on 1 megahertz of radio frequency band for mobile communications shall be UAH 1,580.
The draft resolution will make it possible to boost yearly receipts to the national budget by UAH 507.2 million for using radio frequency resource of Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Finance.
As Ukrainian News reported, in December 2008, the Cabinet of Ministers raised monthly duty on using radio frequency resource of Ukraine by 60% as of January 2009.
