The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (ACU) has found monopolism on the market of telecommunication services by Volia-cable company. It’s reported in the special ACU statement made by the Acting Head of the ACU Alexander Melnichenko.
According to him, The Antimonopoly Committee began investigating the company’s operation in Kiev and other 12 regions of Ukrane. As a result, in July Volia-cable and three linked structures in Kiev had been fined for totaling 3 mln UAH, due to a court decision.
The ACU also demands to cut down prices for Volia-cable services, as far as prices for a certain packages, social ones, in particular, are overstated.
To settle the problem a special working group will be established.
As it was reported earlier, Volia plans to launch in Ukraine interactive digital television (IPTV) in the second half of 2010.
