Currently in beta, Orbs is the latest addition to Discord’s quests. This is the company’s system that allows advertisers to launch interactive tasks. These can be things like watching promotional videos or playing games.
If you decide to become a quest subject, you can spend your Spheres in several ways. A popular redemption option is Discord Nitro credits. You can also exchange Spheres for specialized cosmetics and products from third-party stores. Unfortunately, you can’t exchange them for real money. Nor can you spend them anywhere outside of Discord.
Until now, Quest advertisers have been limited in offering their own rewards. However, they can still do so. The new virtual currency is just another option.
Orbs are launching in a limited beta, so you may not have access to them yet. They are also only available for desktop (app and browser), at least for now. You can find quests by going to Find > Discord Quests. Once you have access to Spheres, you can claim them in Direct Messages > Store.
