The National Commission for Regulating Communications is intending to regulate the question of allocation of short codes to operators.
Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the National Commission for Regulating Communications.
“To date none of the operators has received a license for using short codes,” said Volodymyr Paschuk, a member of the Communications Commission.
The Communications Commission has obliged communication operators to analyze the use of short codes before February 1 and to provide information to the Commission.
According to him, the Communications Commission expects operators to submit applications and sets of documents before March 1 for allocation of the short codes.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in December 2010 introduced fees for allocation of short codes to communication operators.
