CME Completes Sale of 1+1 Studio and Kino TV Channels to Kolomoisky’s Harley Trading Limited

    1plus1-logoThe Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. (CME) has completed the deal on the sale of the 1+1 Studio TV channel and the Kino TV channel to the Harley Trading Limited company controlled by businessman Ihor Kolomoisky, CME said.

    According to the report, the amount of the deal was USD 300 million, un.ua says.

    USD 8 million was channeled for purchasers for TV channels operation before the completion of the deal.

    On February 1, the CME obtained USD 30 million from Kolomoisky’s company and rest USD 278 was received on April 7.

    CME intends to channel the funds for the acquisition of Bulgarian bTV group company and intends to complete this deal by late April.

    As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Central European Media Enterprises Ltd (CME) has entered into an agreement with Harley Trading Limited, a company beneficially owned by Ihor Kolomoiskyi, to sell 100% of television channels Studio 1+1 and Kino, reads a statement made CME.

    CME in July 2009 agreed with co-owner of PryvatBank Kolomoisky on sale of 49% of its Ukrainian operations to him (Studio 1+1, 1+1 International, Kino), to which the Ukrainian businessman had to add 100% of the TV channel TET.

    Kolomoiskyi also got an option for acquiring the rest of 51% of these assets for USD 300 million in one year after closing the deal.

    After than CME said the sides expected to close the transaction by October but never reported the closing.
