Dmytro Firtash, the head of the Group DF group of companies’ board of directors, has acquired the Siverskodonetsk Azot company (Siverskodonetsk, Luhansk region).

Firtash announced this to journalists in Kharkiv.

“I have already bought it,” Firtash said.

Firtash added that 70% of the money used to acquire Siverskodonetsk Azot was his own money and 30% was loans from unnamed banks.

Firtash did not disclose the value of the deal.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the State Property Fund sold 40% of Siverskodonetsk Azot to Worldwide Chemical (United States) in December 2010.

The deal was worth approximately UAH 276 million.

The shares of Worldwide Chemical LLC (a subsidiary of IBE Trade Corp of the United States) in Siverskodonetsk Azot increased to 100% following the sale.

Siverskodonetsk Azot reported a loss of UAH 200.369 million for the year 2009, when its net revenues reduced by UAH 1,576.369 million or 42.1% to UAH 2,168.042 million compared with 2008.

Siverskodonetsk Azot is a major producer of ammonia, carbamide, and ammonium nitrate.

Firtash controls the OstChem Group, an international group of chemical companies that included four producers of mineral fertilizers — the Rivneazot company (Rivne region), the Styrol concern, the Tajikazot company (Tajikistan), and the Nitrofert company (Estonia) —as of late 2010.

OstChem Holding AG (Vienna, Austria) is the management company of the OstChem Group.
