The investment bank Barclays Capital (Britain) has decided to establish an IT-center in Kyiv.
Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the Kyiv office of the EPAM Systems Company (the United States) which is a partner of Barclays Capital within the construction and management of the IT-center.
“The investment bank Barclays Capital, a division of Barclays Bank PLC, announced on (June 10) its decision to build a third global center for development and technical support in Kyiv in addition to two operating centers in Singapore and Prague,” reads the statement.
The developer of software — the EPAM Systems Company — has been selected by the partner for construction and management of IT-center where, according to plans, 500 employees will work by the end of 2012.
“The choice in Ukraine’s favor was made due availability in the country of enough amount of IT-specialists with excellent technical training and analytical abilities,” reads the statement.
IT specialists will develop software for domestic projects on the languages C++, Java, or C# for a wide spectrum of business applications starting with the electronic trading to the risk management systems used by all structures of the bank.
According to the statement, investment of Barclays Capital and EPAM Systems in Kyiv have long-term perspective.
For creating the IT-center on the base of EPAM Systems Barclays Capital has invested over USD 2 million to form infrastructure with the use of solutions from Hewlett Packard, Cisco, Microsoft, and other companies.

EPAM Systems was founded in 1993 with the headquarter in the United States.
