Apple has released the beta version of Apple Music version 5.0 for Android, and according to 9to5Google, it doesn’t have the Liquid Glass redesign like its iOS 26 counterpart. Liquid Glass is what Apple calls its new visual language, so it’s not entirely clear if the Android version of the app will receive the same visual overhaul. However, it does get a few elements from iOS 26, including new pill-shaped buttons for play, shuffle, and repeat at the top of albums, playlists, and queued tracks to replace the rectangular buttons with rounded corners.
Users will also be able to pin music to the top of their library. They can pin artists, entire albums, playlists, or just specific songs for easy access if they want, and they can set up automatic downloads of anything they pin to their device. 9to5Google says that anything they pin will be synced to their iOS Music app, but they can easily un-pin things by long-pressing them in the Library.
The Android app will also have a “lyrics translation and pronunciation guide” that is powered by Apple Intelligence on the iPhone. If this is the same real-time translation feature, it will likely be powered by Google’s own artificial intelligence on Android. Users will also be able to get monthly and annual playback statistics in the app. Unfortunately, there is no confirmation that AutoMix, a major addition to the iOS 26 app and a more advanced version of crossfade, will be coming to Android. This feature utilizes DJ transitions between tracks by mixing the end of one track with the beginning of another, playing with tempos, and adding soft fades to drum or bass loops.
