According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple has formed a new team to create a ChatGPT-like application.
This team, reportedly called Answers, Knowledge and Information, is working on creating an “answer engine” that can answer questions using information from across the Internet. This could be a separate app or a search function in Siri, Safari, and other Apple products.
Gurman also notes that Apple is announcing a competition to work in this team, in particular, looking for candidates with experience in search algorithms and engine development.
Although Apple has already integrated ChatGPT into Siri, a more personalized update to the AI-based voice assistant has been repeatedly delayed. Apple may also be forced to change its search agreement with Google due to the latter’s defeat in the antitrust court.
