At the end of January, Amazon will close its Try Before You Buy program. This decision, first reported by The Information, was announced by a message at the top of the Prime Try Before You Buy page, which states that the last day of the program is January 31. The service has been available to club members since 2018, when it was first launched under the name Prime Wardrobe. With it, you could choose up to six items to try on and send back what you didn’t like for free within a week. You were only charged for the items you decided to keep, and you could choose from clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories.
In a statement to CNBC, an Amazon spokesperson said: “Given that the Try Before You Buy service is only scalable to a limited number of products and customers are increasingly using our new AI-powered features like virtual try-on, personalized sizing recommendations, review highlights, and enhanced sizing charts to make sure they’re sizing up correctly, we’re phasing out the Try Before You Buy option starting January 31, 2025.” If you’re still using this service, you’d better hurry up with your last orders.
