Amazon has received permission to sell Nintendo Switch 2

Amazon has finally launched a listing for the Nintendo Switch 2 in the US, though you can only register your interest to receive an invitation to purchase the console.

This is a big change after Nintendo removed its product listings from Amazon last year. In June, Bloomberg reported that Nintendo removed the listings because third-party sellers were selling games at prices “that were lower than Nintendo’s advertised prices.” Nintendo and Amazon denied the Bloomberg report in statements to the publication, but did not elaborate.

However, there have been signs that something has changed between Nintendo and Amazon, with Switch 2 games such as Donkey Kong Bananza, Super Mario Party Jamboree, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land recently appearing on Amazon’s official product pages.

If you send an invite request to Amazon, a message will appear on the product page stating that “if you are invited to purchase, you will receive an email with a link that will be valid for 22 hours. We will not be able to fulfill all requests.” I also received an email notifying me of my request.

The Switch 2 has been a huge hit for Nintendo, becoming the fastest-selling game console of all time since its launch on June 5. If you’re still looking for a console and Amazon doesn’t have it, retailers like Walmart and Best Buy do occasionally restock.
