Adobe's Firefly is coming to iOS and Android

Adobe is looking to attract users to its AI platform. In April, the company launched an updated Firefly web application that allows users to use Firefly’s own image and video generation models, as well as third-party models.

The company is now releasing the Firefly app for iOS and Android, which allows the use of all its models, as well as models from OpenAI (GPT image generation), Google (Imagen 3 and Veo 2), and Flux (Flux 1.1 Pro).

Just like the web app, the new smartphone apps allow you to use the prompts to create images or videos, and convert images to videos. You can also edit specific parts of images with Generative Fill or expand images with Generative Expand. Adobe Creative Cloud subscribers can start a project in the Firefly mobile app and save it to the cloud to access it from the web or desktop app.

The company also now supports more third-party models, including Flux.1 Kontext from Black Forest Labs, Ideogram 3.0 from Ideogram, and Gen-4 Image from Runway.

The company is also updating Firefly Boards, its whiteboard collaboration tool, with video capabilities. Canvas allows users to create videos with Adobe’s own video models as well as with competitors’ video models.

Adobe said that users have already created more than 24 billion media assets using Firefly models, and that artificial intelligence features were an important factor in the 30% increase in the number of first-time subscribers compared to the previous quarter.
