Adobe tests real-time collaborative editing in Photoshop

Photoshop is officially becoming a team project. Adobe has announced a real-time collaborative editing feature in Photoshop that allows multiple people to work on the same file simultaneously from different computers. If you’re tired of waiting for a document to come back to you, this is probably great news, but if you only want to share the final product, you might not want to let your boss know.

Adobe offers many uses for real-time collaborative editing in Photoshop, such as collaborating with other designers, allowing clients to directly edit and comment on a document, or allowing students to follow along with a teacher’s lesson. Honestly, my design skills would have been better if I had this option in my college Photoshop class.

This feature is not yet fully finalized and is currently only available in beta – although the company offers a similar feature in Adobe Express. You can sign up for the beta testing group here if you want to test it yourself. You can also look at competitors like Canva, which already offers real-time collaboration.
