In October-December, the number of subscribers of Ukrainian mobile operators fell by 0.6% or 315,000 to 54.943 million, compared to the third quarter of 2009 (according to the refined data, the number of subscribers in the third quarter made up 55.258 million).
The State Statistics Committee (SSC) announced this in a statement, un.ua says.
In particular, among the population 31.737 million people are subscribers, that is by 0.6% more, compared with the third quarter of 2009 (according to the refined data, the number of subscribers in the third quarter made up 31.537 million).
According to the SSC’s data, for Kyiv falls 8.660 million of people or 15.76% from the total number of subscribers; for the Donetsk region — 5.336 million of subscribers or 9.71%, for the Dnipropetrovsk region — 3.410 million of subscribers or 6.21%, for the Odesa region — 2.825 million of subscribers or 5.14%, for the Kharkiv region — 3.788 million of subscribers or 6.89%.
In 2009, comparing with 2008, the number of subscribers of Ukrainian mobile operators fell by 1.3% from 55.682 million to 54.943 million.
