Intel Corporation has officially unveiled the latest 14th Generation Intel Core family of desktop processors, led by the flagship Intel Core i9-14900K. This new lineup includes six unlocked desktop processors with up to 24 cores, 32 threads, and an impressive speed of up to 6GHz right out of the box.
The i9-14900K claims to be the world’s fastest desktop processor, giving gamers a significant advantage with its 6GHz clock speed from the get-go. For creators, the Intel Core i7-14700K offers 20 cores and 28 threads, a 25% increase over its predecessor, and delivers significant performance gains in multi-threaded workloads.
Intel is introducing a new AI Assist feature in the Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) that offers one-click AI-based overclocking for select unlocked 14th Generation Intel Core desktop processors. This feature simplifies the overclocking process and is suitable for both experts and beginners.
The 14th Generation Intel Core processors utilize Intel’s advanced hybrid high performance architecture, prioritizing computing performance for everyday workflows. The line promises an immersive gaming experience, delivering up to 23% performance gains over “leading competitor processors.” Advanced gaming-oriented features, including Intel Application Optimization (APO) and Thread Director application thread scheduling, are aimed at improving application threads. In addition, these processors support DDR5 XMP memory speeds well in excess of 8000 megatransfers per second (MT/S).
The latest Intel desktop processor family features integrated support for Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth 5.3, as well as discrete support for the new Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless technologies. The processors are compatible with Intel’s 600 and 700 series chipsets, allowing enthusiasts to easily upgrade their existing systems and enjoy the latest generation of gaming and creative performance.
Intel’s 14th Generation Core processors will be available in retail and OEM partner systems starting October 17, 2023.
