Ukrainians are willing to pay additional fee to view commercial TV channels. This is a common opinion by the market’s experts.
“Positive prospects for the industry depends on two components. The first is the possibility of “voluntary-compulsory “connection of subscribers, for example, under the pretext of transition to digital TV. Thus, the operator has access to the customer,” – says Vlad Butramenkov, TV market expert. “The second is the maximum reduction in the price of content and its attractiveness against a free (but often not a high-quality) content loaded through Internet”.
According to the expert, if the price is adequate for a subscriber, then he (or she) would agree to expand its list of TV opportunities.
“Actually, TV relaxation means 3.5 hour (in average) of everyday life of an Ukrainian. And many of local people would like to improve the quality of life during those 3.5 hours,” – summarizes V. Butramenkov.
