In the quest for the ideal work computer, many office professionals find themselves at a crossroads. Laptops offer portability but often come with restrictive screen sizes that can strain the neck and eyes during long work sessions. Traditional desktops provide a robust experience but can consume valuable desk space, especially in smaller home offices. Enter the ASUS无双 7X (V501MV) desktop, a compact machine designed to address these very needs, promising space-saving efficiency without compromising on performance for daily tasks.
Performance Under the Hood
At the heart of the 无双 7X lies an Intel® Core™ 5 210H processor. This mobile-centric chip from the Raptor Lake family, built on Intel 7 process technology, boasts 8 cores (4 Performance-cores and 4 Efficient-cores) and 12 threads. It features a performance core base frequency of 2.2GHz, boosting up to 4.8GHz, while efficient cores operate at 1.6GHz, clocking up to 3.6GHz. With 12MB of cache and a configurable TDP ranging from 35W to 115W, it’s designed for a balance of power and efficiency. Integrated Intel® Graphics with 48 execution units and a maximum dynamic frequency of 1.4GHz handle visual tasks.
In benchmark tests, the 无双 7X demonstrated solid performance. CPU-Z yielded a single-thread score of 736.4 and a multi-thread score of 5115.0. CineBench R23 recorded 1681pts for single-core and 10951 pts for multi-core performance. CineBench R24 results were 106pts (single-core) and 603 pts (multi-core), while CineBench 2026 showed 585pts (single-thread) and 431pts (single-core single-thread), with a multi-core score of 2480pts. The 3D Mark CPU Profile test registered 1015 points for single-thread and 5980 points for the maximum thread count.
For graphics, the integrated Intel® Graphics performed adequately for everyday tasks. In 3D Mark, the Steel Nomad Light project scored 718 points (5.32 FPS), Time Spy achieved 1124 points overall (975 for graphics), and Wild Life reached 8112 points (48.58 FPS). The Fire Strike benchmark resulted in 3132 points overall (3358 for graphics), and the V-Ray GPU rendering score was 7531. For light gaming, testing with Valorant at minimum settings and 1920×1080 resolution yielded an average of 145 fps, ensuring a smooth experience.
Stability is crucial for an office machine. The 无双 7X passed a 10-minute AIDA64 FPU stress test, maintaining smooth operation with the CPU package power around 44W and temperatures at 66°C. This stability is attributed to its advanced cooling system, featuring larger fans for enhanced heat exchange, direct rear exhaust of hot air, a 8mm copper heat pipe, and hidden front air intakes, all contributing to quiet and efficient operation. Noise levels during normal use were measured at a mere 31.2 dBA.
The system is equipped with 16GB of DDR5 RAM, showing read speeds of 40309 MB/s, write speeds of 36639 MB/s, and copy speeds of 35848 MB/s, with a latency of 90.6ns. Storage is handled by a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, boasting impressive sequential read speeds of 6363.18 MB/s and write speeds of 5685.09 MB/s.
Productivity benchmarks further highlight its suitability for office work. CrossMark scored 1632 overall (1651 for Productivity, 1633 for Creativity). PC Mark 10’s modern office test achieved a total score of 6653, with excellent scores in Essentials (10500) and Productivity (12029), and a respectable 6328 in Digital Content Creation, exceeding expectations for its processor.
Design: Subtle Elegance for Any Space
The 无双 7X’s design philosophy centers on understated versatility, drawing inspiration from home furniture. It’s available in two finishes: a black faux wood grain, which the reviewed unit featured with its deep walnut-colored front panel and matte black accents, and a white faux fabric texture. The faux wood grain offers a warm, textured feel with subtle raised patterns and rounded corners, blending seamlessly into various decor styles.
The front panel houses a subtle power button with a warm 4000K LED indicator, providing a soft glow when the machine is on. Connectivity is conveniently located at the front, including a headphone jack, microphone jack, two 5Gbps USB-A ports, and a 5Gbps USB-C port. The ASUS logo is discreetly placed near the bottom.
Both side panels are finished in a fine matte black, with the right panel being smooth and the left featuring a square ventilation grille. The chassis’s matte coating resists fingerprints, and the overall construction exhibits tight seams and smooth edges, reflecting a quality build.
The rear panel is functional, providing multiple exhaust vents for efficient heat dissipation, and serves as the hub for monitor, keyboard, and mouse connections, keeping cable clutter to a minimum. A Kensington lock slot is also included for added security in shared environments.
The top panel maintains the minimalist matte black aesthetic. The bottom features four anti-slip feet and another large ventilation grille. With a chassis volume of 15L, the 无双 7X is compact and lightweight, easily portable for relocation or cleaning. Its size allows it to be placed discreetly on a desk, beside a monitor, or even within a bookshelf, maximizing spatial efficiency.
The package also includes an ASUS AW311 wired keyboard and mouse, suitable for light office use.
Enhanced User Experience
Beyond performance and aesthetics, the 无双 7X offers thoughtful usability features. The front-facing USB 3.2 Type-C port is particularly useful for quickly connecting and charging smartphones, facilitating easy file transfers without reaching around the back of the PC. The two front USB-A ports further enhance convenience for external drives and peripherals.
For deeper integration, ASUS offers the Multi-Screen Collaboration (GlideX) application. This allows for seamless interaction between the PC and mobile devices. Users can mirror their phone screen on the PC, control their phone with the mouse and keyboard, or even extend their PC display to a phone or tablet, effectively creating a secondary screen. The standout feature is ‘Multi-Control’, enabling simultaneous operation of PC and mobile devices with a single keyboard and mouse set. This significantly boosts efficiency for tasks like referencing mobile data while typing on the PC, with easy copy-pasting and drag-and-drop file transfers between devices.
Additionally, the ExpertMeet panel provides business-oriented features, such as screen watermarking to protect sensitive information during meetings or screen sharing. Users can customize watermark content, style (full-screen or partial), and type (text or image). Quick access buttons for microphone muting and screen capture are also integrated for streamlined meeting participation.
Conclusion
The ASUS 无双 7X stands out as a reliable, hassle-free, and space-efficient desktop solution primarily aimed at office professionals and students. Its compact 15L chassis, light weight, stylish design, and quiet, stable performance during demanding tasks make it a compelling choice for those prioritizing a clean and productive workspace. While it excels in everyday office productivity, light gaming, and multitasking, heavy users like professional gamers or content creators might find its performance limits.
Overall, the 无双 7X is a well-executed compact office PC that successfully delivers on its promise of saving space, operating quietly, and maintaining an attractive, adaptable design. For anyone looking to upgrade their home office or study setup, especially with promotions like Double 11, the 无双 7X is certainly worth considering.
