AMD has officially launched its next-generation Ryzen AI Halo developer platform, powered by the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor. This new platform represents a significant upgrade over its predecessor, boasting improvements in CPU, GPU, and NPU performance.

Enhanced AI Capabilities and Memory Support

The most striking advancement in the new Ryzen AI Halo developer platform is its support for up to 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory. Crucially, 160GB of this memory can be allocated as shared graphics memory. This massive memory capacity makes it possible to run large-scale artificial intelligence models locally, including those exceeding 300 billion parameters.

This expanded memory capability is a game-changer for AI developers, enabling more complex and resource-intensive models to be trained and deployed directly on the developer hardware. It significantly reduces the reliance on cloud-based resources for certain AI workloads, potentially speeding up development cycles and improving efficiency.

Pricing and Availability

The Linux version of the new AMD Ryzen AI Halo developer platform is priced at $7,299.99 USD. AMD has also announced that a Windows version, pre-loaded with Microsoft’s Project Zenith, will be available at a later date.

This release positions AMD as a strong contender in the growing field of edge AI development, providing powerful hardware designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern AI applications. Developers looking to push the boundaries of local AI model deployment will find the substantial memory and processing power of this new platform particularly appealing.
