Razer has just announced its new Wolverine V4 series of game controllers, designed for dedicated esports enthusiasts. The series includes two models: the Wolverine V4 Pro and the Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition, both compatible with XBOX and PC platforms.
Wolverine V4 Pro: Precision and Customization
The Wolverine V4 Pro model is engineered with cutting-edge technology to provide a competitive edge. It features capacitive joysticks, which offer superior resistance to interference and anti-drift performance compared to traditional TMR and Hall effect joysticks. These joysticks can recognize up to 3000 levels of motion change, ensuring smoother tracking and higher accuracy, crucial for demanding games like FPS and racing titles.
A standout feature of the Pro version is its four magnetic, swappable back buttons. This allows for easy customization and personalization without the need for tools, enabling players to tailor their controller setup to their specific playstyle. Furthermore, users get six different joystick caps to choose from, allowing for further ergonomic adjustment. The controller also supports four on-board profiles, giving players the flexibility to remap buttons and adjust trigger dead zones on the fly.
For PC gamers, the Wolverine V4 Pro boasts an impressive polling rate of up to 8000Hz, providing near-instantaneous input response. While the polling rate for XBOX is set at 250Hz, the 8KHz capability on PC is a significant upgrade for competitive play, offering a tangible advantage in fast-paced scenarios.
Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition: Wired Performance
The Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition offers a wired gaming experience focused on responsiveness. It utilizes tactile PBT operational buttons and an 8-directional D-pad, designed for quick and accurate inputs. Like its Pro counterpart, the Tournament Edition also supports an 8KHz polling rate on PC, ensuring low latency for competitive gaming.
Design and Compatibility
Both controllers in the Wolverine V4 series feature an asymmetrical joystick layout, a common preference among many gamers for comfortable control. The advanced capacitive joysticks are a key innovation, promising enhanced durability and consistent performance over time.
The launch of the Wolverine V4 series underscores Razer’s commitment to providing high-performance peripherals for the esports and gaming community. These new controllers aim to deliver the precision, speed, and customization options that serious gamers demand, enhancing their experience across both PC and XBOX platforms.
