According to data from Lighthouse Professional Edition, the total box office for the 2026 National Day holiday has exceeded 300 million yuan. The top five films currently include ‘Detective’s Trace’, ‘What the Couple’, ‘Avengers 4: Endgame (Extended Cut)’, ‘Peppa Pig: Perfect Holiday’, and ‘Welcome to the Dragon Restaurant’.

‘Detective’s Trace’, directed by Chen Sicheng and starring Zhang Yi, Ma Li, and Chen Minghao, is based on real cases. Adapted from the book ‘Chinese Detectives – Republic Criminal Police Cui Daizhi’, the film chronicles the story of Cui Xun, who upholds the principle of ‘serving the people’ and investigates multiple major cases, witnessing the development of public security technology and the history of the new China’s public security cause.

What the Couple

‘What the Couple’ is a comedy directed by Shen Chunyang, featuring performances from Xiao Shenyang, Shen Chunyang, Jia Bing, Yu Yang, and Wei Xiang. The film tells the story of a bickering couple who have been married for many years, whose lives have become mundane. However, shortly after filing for divorce, an unexpected event dramatically changes their lives.

Avengers 4: Endgame (Extended Cut) Re-release

Marvel’s ‘Avengers 4: Endgame (Extended Cut)’ made its return to national cinemas on September 25th. This re-release features a total runtime of 185 minutes, approximately 4 minutes longer than the original 181-minute version from 2019. The extended cut is available in premium formats like IMAX, Dolby Cinema, CINITY, and China Giant Screen, with both 2D and 3D options. This marks the first re-release of ‘Avengers 4: Endgame’ in mainland China theaters since its initial premiere in 2019, seven years ago.
