Chery’s iCAR brand is set to launch the extended range version of its V27 SUV on September 30th, revealing more details about its premium cabin and enhanced capabilities. This new variant promises an upgraded experience with its “all-inclusive silent interstellar cabin” and luxurious zero-gravity seats.
Premium Interior Features
The iCAR V27 extended range version boasts an impressive interior designed for ultimate comfort and tranquility. The standout feature is its zero-gravity seats, which offer heating, ventilation, and massage functions. Occupants can choose from 14 massage points and 8 different massage modes, ensuring a personalized relaxation experience. Both front seats are equipped with 4-way electric lumbar support. The cabin is further enhanced by an “interstellar porthole” dual panoramic sunroof and a suede headliner, contributing to a sophisticated and airy feel. The vehicle also features the most quiet cabin in its class, thanks to seven layers of sound-dampening glass.
Extended Range and Performance
Building on the foundation of the original iCAR V27, the extended range version is equipped with a 51.2kWh dedicated range-extended battery pack, utilizing CATL lithium iron phosphate cells. This setup provides a CLTC pure electric range of 300km. The vehicle also supports a 6kW external power discharge capability, adding versatility for outdoor use. For those needing a quick top-up, the battery can charge from 30% to 80% in just 17 minutes.
Powertrain and Variants
The iCAR V27 utilizes a range-extender system combining a 1.5T engine with electric motors. The engine has a maximum power output of 105kW. The vehicle will be available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The all-wheel drive version boasts a maximum power of 335kW. Pure electric range figures are 200km for the AWD version and 210km for the RWD version. Combined range estimates are impressive, with the AWD variant reaching up to 1200km and the RWD variant extending to 1230km on a full charge and tank.
Market Positioning
The original iCAR V27, Chery’s first range-extended SUV, was launched on March 13th of this year. It’s positioned as a rugged, boxy, mid-to-large-sized SUV, with Chery touting it as the “best driving 5-meter boxy SUV.” The initial launch included several variants:
- 210km RWD Falcon 500: 169,800 RMB
- 200km AWD Falcon 500: 182,800 RMB
- 200km AWD Falcon 700: 196,800 RMB
