Honor CEO Li Jian has officially announced the pricing for the highly anticipated Honor Magic9 smartphone, marking a significant milestone as the Magic series celebrates its tenth anniversary. The 16GB+512GB variant will be available starting at a ‘national subsidy’ price of 5499 yuan, with other pricing tiers also revealed.
Magic Series Marks a Decade with New Flagship
Speaking at an event on September 24th, Li Jian, CEO of Honor Terminal Co., Ltd., highlighted the significance of this year for the Honor Magic series. “This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Honor Magic series’ inception,” he stated. “The Honor Magic9 is not only our fearless and unconventional approach to technological innovation but also a decade-long expression of sincerity dedicated to every new and old user.”
The pricing revealed for the 16GB+512GB model includes an “Industry Lowest Price” of 6499 yuan, a special “Magic Ten Years Grand Offering Price” of 5999 yuan, and the final “National Subsidy On-Hand Price” of 5499 yuan.
Leaked Specifications Hint at Powerful Performance
Following the announcement, prominent tech blogger @数码闲聊站 (Digital Chat Station) shared some detailed specifications for the upcoming device. The Honor Magic9 is rumored to feature a 6.37-inch 1.5K+ 120Hz LTPS flat display with extremely narrow bezels on all four sides. Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8E5 processor.
For battery performance, the device is tipped to house a substantial 8000mAh battery, supported by 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. In terms of camera capabilities, the front camera is reported to be a 55MP unit in a square form factor, while the rear setup boasts an impressive array: a 200MP main sensor (1/1.4-inch), a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and another 200MP telephoto camera with a 3.5X optical zoom (1/1.56-inch). The phone is also expected to include 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensing and IP68/IP69/IP69K water and dust resistance ratings.
Official Launch and Future Prospects
Honor had previously officially announced that the new flagship Honor Magic9 series would be released on September 28th. The company has emphasized that this series, representing a decade of accumulated expertise for the Magic line and the first flagship since the brand’s revitalization, will embody the brand’s “dare to be different” attitude. Users can expect comprehensive advancements in design, imaging, and AI capabilities.
Further leaks suggest that the Honor Magic9 series will offer multiple models. One of these, the “Super Energy Edition,” might include an active cooling fan to manage heat during high-performance tasks. The inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen6 processor and Honor’s proprietary 驭光 H1 (Yuguang H1) chip are also possibilities, particularly for higher-end configurations. The Pro Max version is rumored to support 4K 120fps video recording across all focal lengths.
Regarding battery and design, smaller models within the series are expected to sport 6.36-inch screens with batteries around 8000mAh. Larger versions could potentially house batteries up to 10000mAh. Color options are said to include a range of styles such as Popcorn Yellow, Opening White, Curtain Black, and Olive Green, catering to diverse user preferences.
