Xiaomi has rolled out a new system update for its Xiaomi Watch 5, bringing the firmware version to OS 3.0.196.0. This update primarily focuses on enhancing the reliability of WeChat message notifications, improving overall system stability, and addressing known issues for a smoother user experience.

Xiaomi Watch 5: A Recap

The Xiaomi Watch 5 was initially launched in December of last year. It offers a premium build with a stainless steel case and artificial sapphire glass on both sides. The device sports a 1.54-inch AMOLED display with a brightness of 1500 nits and extremely narrow 2.6mm bezels, providing an immersive visual experience. Charging is handled via contact pins, and users have a variety of strap options, including fluoroelastomer in khaki green or black, genuine leather, and 3D printed titanium.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Watch 5 boasts a dual-chip, dual-system architecture. It features the Snapdragon W5 wearable processor, built on a 4nm process with a quad-core A53 configuration, paired with a BES2800 low-power chip. This powerful combination allows the watch to independently run a range of applications, including Alipay and Maps. In terms of battery life, the performance mode offers up to 6 days of usage, while the power-saving mode extends this to an impressive 18 days.
