Nubia has officially launched its new ‘Ice Cream’ phone cooler, available across all platforms with an introductory price of 99 Yuan. This innovative device boasts impressive cooling capabilities, reaching temperatures as low as -18°C, a peak power of 25W, and a surprisingly lightweight design of just 90g, all while incorporating Nubia’s flagship RedMagic cooling architecture.

Advanced Cooling Technology

The Nubia Ice Cream cooler leverages the same cooling architecture found in the RedMagic 8 Pro, featuring the seventh-generation RedMagic cooling technology, codenamed COLDING. This architecture creates a comprehensive thermal exchange system, linking the semiconductor cooler, heatsink, air duct, fan, and heat-dissipating copper plate. Nubia claims this system enhances conversion efficiency by an impressive 72%.

Internally, the cooler is constructed with a four-layer structure. This includes a pure aluminum high-conductivity equalizing plate, an 8 Pro-class high-density TEC (Thermoelectric Cooler) chip, a custom cold-forged cooling aluminum piece, and a custom 7-blade fan identical to the one used in the RedMagic 6 Pro+.

The device is equipped with a custom 36*36mm high-density TEC chip featuring 96 pairs of PN junctions, enabling rapid cooling. Compared to standard coolers, its performance is boosted by 79%, with a cooling area of 1296mm².

Performance and Heat Management

In terms of thermal performance, the cooler offers a peak power of 25W and can achieve a minimum cooling temperature of -18°C. Under load, it can reduce temperatures by up to 60°C, effectively combating overheating issues in smartphones during demanding activities like gaming, live streaming, fast charging, or outdoor use.

The custom 7-blade fan from the RedMagic 6 Pro+ spins at speeds up to 6,000 RPM, ensuring rapid expulsion of heat for enhanced cooling. The air duct design features a 3D贯穿式 (guànchuān shì – penetrating) design with top and bottom air outlets. This configuration directs hot air away from the user’s hand, while keeping noise levels down to a low 33dB.

Design and Ergonomics

Aesthetically, the cooler sports a unique ‘Ice Cream’ design. The vanilla-colored body is randomly accented with cookie patterns, making each unit distinct. Its square form factor is complemented by large rounded corners and an AG matte spray finish with an AF anti-fingerprint coating.

Measuring only 25mm in thickness and weighing just 90g, the lightweight and slim design ensures it doesn’t obstruct hand movements or feel heavy during use. It’s designed to be compatible with a wide range of smartphones and tablets.

Functional Features

For functional control, the cooler integrates an NTC temperature control AI chip. It offers four distinct modes: Silent, Power, Overclock, and Temperature Control, all adjustable via a button. Additionally, it features a circular RGB light strip with three lighting effects – colorful, breathing, and fixed – also controllable via button. A double-click switches between lighting effects, and a long press turns the lights on or off.

Versatile Mounting Options

The cooler utilizes super-strong neodymium magnets for a secure attachment, ensuring it stays firmly in place during use. For added versatility, the package includes a pair of clips that can transform the magnetic cooler into a clip-on device, compatible with both Apple and Android phones. Furthermore, it features a standard 1/4 universal screw hole, allowing for direct connection to live streaming brackets.

The Nubia Ice Cream cooler is now available for 99 Yuan, offering a compelling blend of advanced cooling technology, user-friendly design, and versatile functionality for mobile users experiencing heat issues.
