Suiyuan Technology, a prominent player among China’s domestic GPU developers, has officially listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s STAR Market today, September 11th. The company, often referred to as one of the “Four Little Dragons” of domestic GPUs, saw its stock price surge dramatically following its debut. Opening at 460 yuan per share, the stock experienced an intraday peak increase of over 220%. As of the time of this report, Suiyuan Technology’s shares were trading up more than 190%, with its total market capitalization reaching 177.7 billion yuan.

A Rapid Rise in AI Chip Development

Founded in March 2018, Suiyuan Technology, alongside Moore Threads, Biren Technology, and Moore’s Law Computing (often collectively known as the “Four Little Dragons” of Chinese GPUs), has made significant strides in the highly competitive AI chip sector. In less than eight years, the company has independently developed and iterated on four generations of architecture, producing five distinct cloud-based AI chips. This has enabled Suiyuan Technology to establish a comprehensive product ecosystem, encompassing AI chips, AI accelerator cards and modules, intelligent computing systems and clusters, and AI computing and programming software platforms. This rapid development has positioned Suiyuan Technology as a leading enterprise in China’s cloud AI chip landscape.

Strategic Fundraising for Future Innovation

According to its previously published prospectus, Suiyuan Technology aimed to raise a total of 6.119 billion yuan through this IPO. The allocated funds are earmarked for critical research and industrialization projects focused on its fifth and sixth-generation AI chip series, as well as advanced AI hardware and software collaborative innovation initiatives. Specifically, approximately 1.503 billion yuan is planned for the fifth-generation AI chip project, 1.197 billion yuan for the sixth-generation AI chip project, and a substantial 3.3 billion yuan for the advanced AI software and hardware synergy project.

Key Investors and Market Performance

Suiyuan Technology’s shareholder registry reveals a robust mix of strategic investors. Notably, Tencent appears in the list as both a shareholder and a customer, highlighting its confidence and integration with Suiyuan’s technology. Regional state-owned capital from the Yangtze River Delta region has also been actively involved. The strategic placement list for the IPO further underscores the company’s strong market backing, featuring prominent names such as GigaDevice, Huahong Semiconductor, Tongfu Microelectronics, ZTE, and Xiaomi, all of whom participated in the pre-IPO placement.

The stellar performance of Suiyuan Technology on its debut follows a trend seen with other domestic GPU startups. Previously, Moore Threads and Biren Technology also experienced significant gains on their respective listing days, with closing price increases of 425.46% and 692.95%, respectively. This suggests a strong investor appetite for innovative domestic semiconductor companies, particularly in the AI and high-performance computing sectors.
