GAC Group has announced a significant milestone, with cumulative sales for the first eight months of 2026 exceeding 1 million vehicles, reaching 1,012,603 units. This marks a modest year-on-year increase of 0.21% in total sales volume.
GAC’s Own Brands Drive Strong Growth
A standout performer within the group is GAC’s own-brand vehicles, which have experienced remarkable growth. From January to August 2026, cumulative sales for these brands surpassed 461,500 units, representing a substantial year-on-year increase of 31.44%. This impressive performance has been consistent, with six consecutive months of double-digit growth. In August alone, GAC’s own brands sold 61,378 vehicles, up 20.43% compared to the same month last year, and their sales contribution to the group’s total rose to 48.49%.
Export Market Shows Explosive Growth
The export market has also been a key area of success for GAC Group. In August, exports from GAC’s own brands reached nearly 27,000 units, a staggering 177% increase year-on-year. For the January-August period, cumulative exports totaled 172,000 units, soaring by 136% compared to the same period in 2025.
Production and Sales Data Breakdown
Looking at the monthly figures, GAC Group’s total vehicle production in August 2026 was 126,727 units, a slight decrease of 1.18% year-on-year. Sales for the month stood at 126,584 units, down 6.71% compared to August 2025. Cumulatively, from January to August 2026, the group produced 1,026,789 vehicles, a 2.99% decrease year-on-year, while sales reached 1,012,603 units, a 0.21% increase.
The strong performance of GAC’s proprietary brands, particularly in both domestic and international markets, signals a positive trajectory for the company. This growth is crucial as the automotive industry continues to evolve, with a strong emphasis on independent brand development and global market expansion.
