Koei Tecmo has announced that its action RPG, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, has surpassed 8 million players globally. To celebrate this milestone, the Complete Edition of the game is now available on Nintendo Switch 2.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Continues Its Journey
The Complete Edition bundles the main game along with all three of its post-launch DLC expansions: ‘The Fierce Battles of Hebei’, ‘The Defiant Blades of Jiangdong’, and ‘The Annihilation of the Imperial Capital’. These DLCs delve into significant historical periods following the game’s main narrative, exploring the rise of Cao Cao’s forces after the dissolution of the allied army against Dong Zhuo, the struggles of the Sun family after Sun Jian’s demise, and the battles of Liu Bei’s army in Jingzhou after Yu Ji’s death.
Originally released on March 3, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty quickly garnered a dedicated fanbase. The Complete Edition was later launched on February 6, 2024, offering a comprehensive package for newcomers and veterans alike.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the Complete Edition is available today. For players in Hong Kong, the digital version is priced at 478 HKD (approximately 410.6 RMB), while the Japanese eShop lists it at 7,480 JPY (approximately 316.3 RMB). The digital download for the Switch 2 version requires around 39GB of storage. Physical copies will be released in a ‘key card’ format and will support both simplified and traditional Chinese languages.
A Sequel on the Horizon
Adding to the excitement, Koei Tecmo also revealed that a sequel, tentatively titled Wo Long 2: Divine Dragon’s Fury (《卧龙 2：凤火连天》), is slated for release in early next year. This highly anticipated sequel will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Furthermore, Divine Dragon’s Fury will be accessible on its launch day through the Xbox Game Pass service, providing an excellent opportunity for subscribers to experience the new title without additional purchase.
The announcement highlights the continued success and expansion of the Wo Long franchise, promising more challenging gameplay and engaging narratives for fans of dark fantasy action RPGs.
