Tesla has updated its website listing for Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised, and notably, China is no longer included in the list of supported regions. This comes just three months after the company announced FSD Supervised’s availability in China.
FSD Supervised Availability Update
The official Tesla website now lists 12 countries and regions where FSD Supervised is available. These include the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, and Belgium. The omission of China from this updated list has caused some surprise, given Tesla’s previous announcement.
Timeline of Events
Back on May 21st, Tesla announced on its X (formerly Twitter) platform that FSD Supervised was launching simultaneously in 10 countries and regions, with China prominently featured on that list. This announcement generated significant anticipation among Chinese consumers and industry observers regarding the potential rollout of Tesla’s advanced driver-assistance system in the significant Chinese market.
However, the recent update to the website’s official availability list effectively removes China from the operational regions for FSD Supervised. This shift raises questions about the timeline and conditions for its eventual release in China.
Previous Preparations for FSD in China
Despite the current exclusion, Tesla has been undertaking substantial efforts to prepare for FSD’s integration into the Chinese market. Previously, an earlier version of FSD, V13, was made available for limited testing among approximately 5,000 Tesla owners across 24 different models in China. This indicated a degree of localized testing and data gathering.
Furthermore, Tesla has been investing in infrastructure to ensure data compliance and local processing. The company established an AI training center in Lingang, Shanghai, which is slated to become operational by February 2026. Additionally, Tesla has been collaborating with Baidu Maps to utilize compliant high-definition maps. These steps suggest a strategic approach to meet China’s stringent data security and privacy regulations, often a prerequisite for advanced autonomous driving technologies.
Tesla has also been actively recruiting technicians for intelligent driving testing in major Chinese cities like Beijing and Shanghai. This recruitment drive, along with the aforementioned data center and AI training center developments, pointed towards a strong commitment to bringing FSD to China.

The removal of China from the FSD Supervised availability list is a significant development.
