Ukrtelecom Sets Hryvnia Tariffs on Calls to Russia

    ukrtelecom-enUkrtelecom, Ukraine’s largest telecommunications company, has set the hryvnia-denominated tariffs on calls to Russia from September 1.

    Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the company, the wording of which was made available to the agency.

    Until September 1, Ukrtelecom had the dollar-denominated tariffs on calls to Russia.

    According to the statement, from September 1 the company charges its clients UAH 0.9 per minute for calls to numbers of fixed phones in Moscow and St. Petersburg, UAH 2 per minute for calls to other cities of Russia.

    The company charges UAH 2.5 per minute for calls to networks of mobile phone operators in Russia.

    Until September 1, the company charged USD 0.34 per minute for calls to numbers of fixed phones in Russia on workdays from 08:00 through 18:00 and USD 0.27 per minute for calls to numbers of fixed phones in Moscow and St. Petersburg on workdays from 18:00 through 08:00 and on days-off.

    Until September 1, Ukrtelecom charged USD 0.48 per minute for calls to networks of mobile phone operators in Russia on workdays from 08:00 through 18:00 and USD 0.38 per minute for calls to networks of mobile phone operators in Russia from 18:00 through 08:00 on workdays and on days-off.

    As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukrtelecom finished the first half of 2010 with a net profit of UAH 47.973 million. The company boosted its net revenues by 3.3% or by UAH 108.362 million in the first half of 2010 over the same period of 2009, to UAH 3,402.463 million.

    Ukrtelecom finished 2009 with a loss of UAH 456.4 million. The company boosted its net revenues by 3.39% or by UAH 225.202 million in 2009 over 2008, to UAH 6,870.931 million.

    Ukrtelecom has a 78.5% share of the fixed-line telephone market in Ukraine and provides services to 9.9 million subscribers.
