Nomad already sells a line of leather wallets that can be purchased with an Apple-compatible tracking card, allowing you to find them if they get lost. The new Leather Mag Wallet is the company’s first wallet to have the tracker electronics built directly into the wallet, so you don’t have to sacrifice a card slot to find it.
The Nomad Tracking Card is already one of the thinnest trackers on the market at 1.7 mm thick, but the company has further reduced its thickness by eliminating the outer shell of the card and integrating all the electronics into the internal polycarbonate frame of the new Leather Mag Wallet. As a result, the wallet, which is now available for $80 and comes in black or rustic brown Horween leather, is only 9mm thick with the battery.
The functionality of the Leather Mag Wallet remains the same as Nomad’s Tracking Card, with up to five months of battery life, which can be extended with any Qi or MagSafe-enabled wireless charger. The wallet is compatible with Apple’s Find My network, and while it has a range of up to 150 feet, it does not support the ultra-wideband (UWB) technology used in AirTags, so you’ll have to rely on the beeping sound to determine its exact location when it’s nearby.
The wallet can hold up to four cards in one pocket, which uses an internal spring mechanism to hold them securely, even if you’re only carrying one card. It’s also MagSafe compatible, so you can attach it to the back of your iPhone or other smartphones that support magnetic wireless chargers, giving you an extra layer of security if you don’t want to lose your phone and not your wallet.
