The State Committee for Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship began posting information on the Twitter social networking service on August 6.
The committee announced this in a statement, a text of which Ukrainian News obtained.
According to the statement, Twitter users will be able to learn about the committee’s events, decisions, and initiatives promptly.
“People reading Twitter and who are interested in what is happening in the business community will now be able to easily follow the work of the State Committee for Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship. They only need to subscribe to our news,” said Orest Sokhar, the deputy chairman of the committee.
In addition, according to Sokhar, the presence of the committee in social networks will make its operations more open and transparent to the public.
The committee’s information is available on Twitter at http://twitter.com/business_gov.
The committee also intends to post information about its operations in other social networks.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, then-president Viktor Yuschenko launched his official presence on Twitter in February 2009.
Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other user messages (up to 140 characters).
