Zenfone 12 Ultra from ASUS relies heavily on AI

Thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, Zenfone 12 Ultra can perform artificial intelligence tasks offline and online via the cloud, including transcribing audio, summarizing articles and documents, and providing real-time interpretation of calls in supported languages. It can also use the circle search function like other Android phones. The built-in artificial intelligence is powered by Meta’s Llama 3 8B language model, which works without an internet connection.

The FHD+ AMOLED display of Zenfone 12 Ultra has a diagonal of 6.78 inches and a standard refresh rate of up to 120 Hz in normal mode and up to 144 Hz during games. The rear triple-camera system for photography and video consists of a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 700 sensor with a six-axis stabilizer, a 32-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree viewing angle. There is also a 32-megapixel RGBW front camera for selfies. Improvements to the AI software can ensure that people or pets remain in the center of the video, as well as apply bokeh effects to portraits and enhance voice clarity when recording videos.

A special feature of the new Zenfone is its 5500 mAh battery, which promises more than 26 hours of operation. It is also compatible with the Qi 1.3 standard. In addition, the smartphone supports eSIM cards, which makes connecting to the Internet easy. WiFi 7 support will allow users to take advantage of high-speed networks when they are available.

The Zenfone 12 Ultra has a retail price of €1,099.99, with a limited offer of €999.99 in Europe from February 6-28. It is available in three colors: Sage Green, Ebony Black, and Sakura White. The US and UK launch dates have not yet been announced.
