Ukrtelecom Divests of Shares in Infocom

    infocomUkrtelecom, Ukraine’s largest telecommunications company, divested itself of shares in Infocom data-transmission operator, reads a statement made by Infocom.

    The statement says Ukrtelecom board in January made a decision on divesting of shares in Infocom and, correspondingly, selling its stake (51%) in the enterprise’s registered capital.

    In April Infocom members at the general meeting approved Ukrtelecom’s divesting of shares in the joint-stock company and paid it a relevant compensation.

    Ukrtelecom did not specify to whom the stake was sold.

    Previously Ukrtelecom owned 51% of Infocom, while Controlware (Germany) owned 43%.

    As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Infocom registered UAH 2.6 million of profit for 2009, when its total consolidated income fell by 18.2% or UAH 29.7 million to UAH 133.5 million (VAT inclusive).

    Infocom is the operator of the national multi-service data-transmission network UkrPak, which has hubs in more than 600 populated localities across Ukraine, all regional centers are interconnected by trunk 2 Mbps data-transfer channels.

    The company has been providing telecommunication services since 1992.
