The National Commission for Regulating Communications (NCRC) has decided to oblige operators of telecommunications services to submit annual reports about the quality of services.

Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the Communications Commission.

According to the statement, at its meeting on April 15 the NCRC endorsed provisions on the quality of telecommunications services. In the opinion of the commission, the provisions aim at introduction of control over the quality of services under the European standards and at creation of conditions for informing customers about the quality of services.

The document provides operators with an opportunity to assess the quality of their services on their own or by engaging on contractual basis accredited bodies for assessment of the quality of telecommunications services.

The document will be submitted to the Justice Ministry of Ukraine for registration. It will take effect on the date of publication.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the NCRC in August 2009 unveiled its intention to oblige operators to submit annual reports about the quality of their telecommunications services.

The National Communications Regulation Commission is the central executive government agency that regulates telecommunications and postal services and distributes radio frequencies and telephone numbers.
