Ukraine: Samsung announced its cost-effective external storage HHD
Samsung has announced sales of external STORY Station storage devices based on 3.5-inch hard drives. The new models have are the lowest in the industry power consumption in standby mode – 0.09 W, which is 95% less than the average values for these devices (2.5 W). So little power consumption’s rate meets the requirements coming into force since January 2010 i.e. the EU directive EuP (Energy Using Products), which regulates the power consumption of equipment in standby mode).
STORY Station product line includes devices from 500 GB to 2 TB. Products will be shipped with specific software (Samsung Auto Backup to save the current data, SecretZone, which encrypts the data, and SafetyKey – to protect the drive with a password).
In Ukraine STORY Station drives are to be on sale since this December. Approximate price for 2 TB model – about 2160 UAH ($263).
